Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
What is Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
Bioidentical hormones (BHRT) are hormones that are identical to the hormones made by your body- they share the same chemical structure. Because they are familiar to your body, your body will process and metabolize them as it would your own hormones. They come with significantly less side effects and risks than the usual conventional/non bioidentical hormones.
Bioidentical hormones come from the wild yam or soybean and are then “tweaked” in a lab to become bio-identical. They are compounded in the unique amount to suit your hormonal needs.
These are the hormones that are commonly used to help restore balance:
Why Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
A message directly from Dr. Cara:
“I have worked in women’s health for many years, helping to restore hormonal balance with bio-identical hormones and functional medicine. I have seen how bio-identical hormones have completely transformed the lives of many women.”
Before rushing to give a medication to treat something, we consider addressing diet, lifestyle, stress management, spiritual connection- as all of these are deeper levels that can address both cause and effect of a symptom.
Symptoms look like
hot flashes or heat at night
insomnia or sleep interruption
lack of motivation
How do you know if you would benefit from your hormones being “balanced” or replaced?
