A Holistic Approach to Health

For more than 20 years, Dr. Kristina Bosnar has cared for families in Toronto and Worldwide with a simple guiding belief: health is not just the absence of disease, it’s a vibrant state of balance that allows you to live fully.

She is the founder of Bosnar Health, an integrative family care clinic known for its personal approach and outstanding reputation, where referrals come almost entirely through word of mouth.

Dr. Kristina believes that every symptom is the body sending a message. Her role is to help patients interpret those messages, uncover root causes, and restore balance. Her philosophy blends nutrition, environment, movement, spirituality, and community into a whole-person model of care. Patients describe her as both deeply compassionate and refreshingly honest — someone who listens carefully, but also offers tough love when needed to guide people toward lasting change.

Feeling good enough is not good enough. It can be so much better. You can feel fantastic. Your health is contagious. It impacts everyone – and everything – around you. You can feel better. Work better. Live better. Love better. Healthy is irresistible. — Kristina Bosnar

Her Chiropractic Journey

Dr. Kristina’s path to chiropractic care began with her own story as an elite athlete. As a dedicated heptathlete training for the Junior Nationals, she dreamed of competing at the Olympic level. But after years of pushing through minor aches and pains, she found herself sidelined with debilitating back pain that no therapy seemed to resolve. Her Olympic dreams ended there.

It wasn’t until two years later that she discovered chiropractic care and finally experienced relief. Within weeks, her pain diminished by 90%, and her outlook completely changed. Inspired, she realized how many others must be suffering needlessly without knowing help was available. That experience set her on the path to becoming a chiropractor herself.

Kristina graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1999 and has been a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) since her student years. She is board certified by the Chiropractic Academy of Family Practice and has dedicated her entire career to helping families thrive.

Expertise in Perinatal, Pediatric Care and Credentials

Dr. Kristina’s special interest in pediatrics and perinatal care began early in her career and has remained a cornerstone of her practice. As both a practitioner and a mother of three (one C-section, two home VBACs), she understands the challenges that come with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. She has worked alongside Toronto-area midwives and OB-GYNs for nearly two decades, supporting mothers physically and emotionally during this profound stage of life.

  • Thompson Technique

Perinatal Chiropractic Care

Dr. Kristina is trained in the Webster In-Utero Constraint Technique, a chiropractic method that supports optimal pelvic balance and frequently helps breech babies reposition.  Throughout her practice, Dr. Bosnar has found that balance in the pregnant pelvis has lead to restoration of normal vertex positioning for breech presentations, shorter and less painful labors, and less interventions for mother and child.

Too often, mamas forgo their own health concerns after the birth of their baby. Dr. Kristina is a passionate advocate for healthy moms AND dads so that they are at their best while they care for their family. Postpartum, she provides guidance for mom’s with breastfeeding challenges, diastasis recti, chronic pelvic pain and those who need pelvic floor rehabilitation.

Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Known affectionately in her community as the baby whisperer, Dr. Kristina has a special gift for working with little ones. Her gentle, intuitive touch brings comfort to babies — and reassurance to parents.

Her hands were forever changed the day she treated a fragile 10-month-old in intensive care at SickKids. That experience taught her how even the subtlest shift in a child’s nervous system can unlock profound healing. Since then, she has cared for countless newborns and children, becoming a familiar face to families across Toronto — so much so that she now treats the babies of the very moms she once cared for as infants.

Dr. Kristina has completed a fellowship in pediatric and perinatal chiropractic through the ICPA, and she holds a Pediatric Certification from the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice’s Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP).

A Personal Journey into Functional Medicine

While chiropractic gave her a way to help others, functional medicine became deeply personal. There was a time in her life, raising three young children, when Dr. Kristina felt completely drained. She was exhausted, moody, and far from the energetic person she once was. Doctors told her she was just a tired mom, and all of her testing came back “normal”. Intuitively, she knew there was more to her symptoms.

Through functional medicine testing, she discovered a hidden H. Pylori infection that was sapping her energy. This infection was missed even after exhaustive conventional medical testing.  Even more concerning, she learned that she carried multiple virulence factors for H. Pylori — the same ones linked to stomach cancer, which had taken both her grandfathers before the age of 50. That discovery was life-changing.

Not only did addressing the infection restore her vitality, but it also ignited her passion for functional medicine. She realized how many people live with hidden infections or imbalances driving chronic illness. This personal awakening drove her to study functional medicine in depth, bringing a new dimension to her work with patients.

The Wahls Protocol®

As an early adopter of the Wahls Protocol®, Dr. Bosnar had the privilege of training directly with Dr. Terry Wahls. She has witnessed firsthand how this groundbreaking approach can help patients put symptoms of autoimmune and chronic disease into remission.

The Wahls Protocol® is much more than a diet — it’s a structured lifestyle plan that includes specific supplementation and nutritional strategies designed to correct deficiencies, support cellular health, and restore optimal function.

At Bosnar Health, these recommendations are guided by high-level functional medicine testing to uncover hidden imbalances, ensuring each plan is personalized to the patient’s unique biology. Dr. Bosnar’s expertise allows patients to move beyond symptom management and toward vibrant, lasting health.

The Bredesen Protocol® – PReCODE & ReCODE

Dr. Kristina was among the early practitioners to train directly with Dr. Dale Bredesen in the Bredesen Protocol®, a revolutionary approach to preventing and reversing cognitive decline. She emphasizes that while genetics may “load the gun,” it is diet, lifestyle, and environment that “pull the trigger.” With compassion and precision, Dr. Bosnar has helped patients slow, halt, and even reverse symptoms of memory loss and early cognitive decline.

Because the protocol is intricate and multifaceted, success requires more than simply knowing the science — it demands an expert who can help patients implement the steps in real life. At Bosnar Health, Dr. Kristina and her team combine their depth of knowledge of the Bredesen Protocol® with personalized coaching, making complex strategies achievable and sustainable. For anyone concerned about brain health and family history, working with her offers the confidence of expert guidance and proven results.

Why work with Dr. Bosnar?

Known for her relentless curiosity and genuine humility, Dr. Kristina is the kind of practitioner patients wish they had found years earlier. She dives deep — connecting subtle patterns and asking the questions others overlook. Her mornings often begin with research papers before her kids are awake, and she personally trials new diets, supplements, and even lab testing methods to fully understand what her patients may experience. She’s equally likely to invite you to try the latest health technology at her own home as she is to call a colleague across the globe to collaborate on a complex case.

Her approach is both deeply caring and refreshingly real.

Patients describe her as a Doctor who listens with compassion but also delivers tough love when it’s needed most. She doesn’t stop at treating symptoms or handing out a diagnosis — she partners with her patients to transform their health. For Dr. Kristina, success means more than feeling “good enough.” It’s about helping people feel truly fantastic — to live with energy, clarity, and joy, and to show up better in every part of life.

Dr. Bosnar has more passion for what she does than any health practitioner that I’ve ever met. She is very engaging with patients, gently and adeptly getting to the heart of the issue by peeling back through the layers of symptoms to get to the true root of pain and discomfort.

She’s a master at what she does, and her patients’ best interests are always paramount. She stays on top of the latest breakthroughs, investing her spare time in educating herself, and her community about health, mental, emotional and physical. My husband are both devotees of what Dr. Bosnar can do. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to gain control of their health, and is looking for someone who truly cares.

Love the atmosphere and I feel very well cared for.

The stories and testimonies are endless within my own family and friends that have seen Dr Kristina and/or her staff.

Dr Kristina loves what she does, loves to see people well and whole, living life in optimal health and yet is so understanding to being a mom of three as she’s a mom of three. I leave her office encouraged and equipped towards living a healthier lifestyle and physically feeling much better than I walked in!

Kristina’s Story – Moms & Babies

Dr. Bosnar’s special interest in pediatric, prenatal and postpartum recovery care started when she joined the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association as a student.

As a member of the ICPA, Kristina is acutely aware of the alterations in biomechanics and nervous system function that may occur in the pre and postnatal body, and the benefits for chiropractic care for both mother and child through the entire perinatal period.

As a mother of three (one c-section and two home VBAC) Kristina has experienced the challenges that can face a new mother in the postpartum period. Working extensively with midwives and ob-gyns in the Toronto area for the last 18 years, she is focused on supporting a woman physically and emotionally through the wonderful and unexpected challenges that can occur from the prenatal to the postpartum period.

Dr. Bosnar’s goal in the prenatal period is simple – restoration of normal spinal and pelvic neurobiomechanics which equates to more comfortable pregnancies with less pain and discomfort, and easier, shorter and more natural births.

Dr. Bosnar has been trained in the Webster In-Utero Constraint technique which focuses on improvement of neurobiomechanical function in the pelvis. In regards to pregnant mothers, Dr. Webster, who developed the technique, reported that when a mother sought care and her baby was in a breech position, the restoration of pelvic neurobiomechanics with this technique also frequently facilitated optimal fetal positioning.

Throughout her practice, Dr. Bosnar has found that balance in the pregnant pelvis has lead to restoration of normal vertex positioning for breech presentations, shorter and less painful labors, and less interventions for mother and child.

Postpartum, Dr. Bosnar provides her new mothers with support in the following areas:
  • Breastfeeding/Latching
  • Coccydynia
  • Neck and Back pain
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Diastasis Recti Assessment
  • Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
  • Persistent Pelvic pain
Pediatric care:

Dr. Bosnar’s passion for treating newborns and children comes from the strong belief in and understanding of the exponential growth of the nervous system during the first decade of life, and how any insult, even a traumatic birth, can shape the course of a child’s neurological development. Treating newborns and children in her practice is a privilege and a joy for Dr. Bosnar. Infants as old as a few days are seen for gentle chiropractic assessment and treatment, along with craniosacral therapy and sacro-occipital technique.

Some conditions commonly seen are:
  • Torticollis
  • Latching Issues/TMJ dysfunction
  • Colic/Fussy Baby
  • Plagiocephaly
  • Pediatric Sports Injuries
  • Improved Immune system function
  • Sleeping problems
  • Neurosensory and Neurobehavioral Issues
  • Headache/Migraine
  • Growing Pains
  • Concussion therapy

As a result of her passionate dedication to pediatric care, she has finished the courses for a Fellowship/ Post-graduate degree in Pediatric Chiropractic, and Pre/Postnatal Care with the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association. She has attained a Pediatric Certification from the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice’s Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics, CACCP.

She has additional training in the following:
  • Perinatal Care: Pre and Postnatal Care
  • Pediatric Nutrition & Nutrition for Special Needs
  • Pediatric Radiology and Imaging
  • Sacral-Occipital Technique: Spinal and Cranial
  • Thompson Technique
  • Craniosacral Therapy: Myofascial Unwinding and Cranial Distortion
